The picture of Mythily and her colleagues was taken at a farewell party for Mythily who worked from Feb.1965 to March 1966 in the Research and Fiscal Policy Planning Unit of the Budget Division of the State Government of New York. From the photographs of the Unit where she worked, it appears that Mythily was the only non-white person present. Mythily eventually returned to India to work with the Left movement and became a well-known Trade Union organizer and women’s rights activist. Photo submitted by: K.Kalpana (daughter of subject)
