“My name is M.Vasantha Kumary. I am the 6th member of my family which consists of 5 brothers and 3 sisters. I am the first women in my family to get a degree. I got my degree in the year 1971 for Economics. I studied in Govt. Women’s college, Vazhuthacaud Trivandrum, Kerala during 1968-71. I completed my MA in Economics from Fathima Matha College, Kollam, Kerala during 1971-73. Also I have completed my B.ed in 1977 and all these were completed in second class. I received prizes for sports and literary competitions during my college days. My prized possession among my gifts is the book written by Rabindra Nath Tagore,’Gitanjali’ which I won for elocution competition.
I got my job at Kerala Public Service Commission and retired from there as the Additional Secretary in 2007. I got married in 1977 Jan 25 and have 2 daughters and 1 son.”
